In 1995 American Girl of Today stepped into history. Girls could now choose a dolls and make their own way in the world with modern clothing and accessories. Early dolls, like many Historical dolls, had a slightly softer mold and feathered soft eyelashes. Every 2 years the Girls of Today were redressed in new meet outfits, new accessories, and packaging. In 2006 the early theme of "Girl of Today" was replaced by "Just Like You". In 2010 this theme was again replaced becoming "My American Girl".
